Hand in hand with the Seahorse painting for Carol, this is the birthday gift for Paul, my girlfriend's father. He's a super cool guy, and you could ask him a question about anything from quantum physics to how the wires are attached to electrical towers, to the combustion temperature of packing peanuts and he'd know the answer offhand. In any case this painting turned out really well, and I learned with much greater detail how skin behaves when lit (turning red before it becomes a shadow. I will start my next painting of a human in a very different way thanks to the knowledge I gained while doing this.
